Help Us

If you feel that KMobileTools is the best application around, and want to help us improving it, this page is for you!
Here you will find some informations about what's needed, links for paypal donations, and will be updated each time that something new will be required to make KMobileTools always be the "state of the art".

To anyone that just now is saying "I'd like to help, but i can't code.. so what could i do?", well.. the first answers are for you!

Donating money to our project will help KMobileTools developers.
New Mobile Phones, USB Cables, but also website and promotional bills.. everything has a price. And also: having a reserve budget can help new developers that could join the team, but don't have enough resources. So clicking on the button below is the first form of help, and to let us know that you're appreciating our work.

Another option if you can't develop is helping with documentation.
New users really need it, and you'll be the best friend of someone if you will help him writing a good reference page where he can find useful informations.

But if you can draw wonderful SVG icons, html templates, backgrounds.. well you've found your task!
Artwork is something that it's appreciated from everyone, but very few people can do it, so if you're one of the lucky ones, please contact us!

A good and easy task to get involved is packaging.
This will save other people a lot of time, downloading precompiled packages for theyr distribution. And as you can see from old download pages, third party contributed packages are always welcome.
You can directly put your packages in ftp.berlios.de/incoming (please follow a good naming scheme, like, for instance, kmobiletools-0.5_beta1_suse10.1.rpm), and then contact the authors by email address (you can find them in this page).

And last but not least, development.
As you can see, KMobileTools is still lacking of some features that are really needed. First of all, our Gammu engine needs to work at least like the AT one. This is not a huge amount of work, since gammu itself will communicate with the phone, you will have to write only a wrapper. But some key features really needed are also SyncML support in cooperation with the OpenSync Project

If you feel you can help us so please use the Contact Us page to find your path.
